R-134а

Replaces R-12 in auto air conditioning and in residential, commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. For new equipment.

Commercial Refrigeration: Performs well in small hermetic systems. Centrifugal Chiller Refrigerants: Used in many new chiller designs. Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps: Used in large screw chillers. EPA SNAP Approved. UL Listed.

 

R-404A

A long-term non-ozone depleting replacement for R-502 and R-22 in low- and medium-temperature commercial refrigeration systems.

Most widely used low- and medium-temperature replacement.

R-407C

A long-term, non-ozone depleting replacement for R-22 in various air-conditioning applications as well as in positive displacement refrigeration systems. For new equipment and retrofits. Not recommended for use in chillers with a flooded evaporator.

Commercial Refrigeration: Reasonable performance match to R-22 in medium temperature refrigeration. Lower capacity in low temperature refrigeration systems. Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps: Best retrofit alternative to R-22. Close performance match with slightly higher operating pressures.

R-410A

Widely accepted to replace R-22 in air conditioning and refrigeration applications. For new equipment — not for retrofits.

High pressure, high efficiency refrigerant designed for new equipment. NOT FOR RETROFITTING.

R-422D

A long-term non-ozone depleting replacement for R-22 in low- and medium-temperature commercial refrigeration systems. Suitable for direct expansion evaporators. Do not use in systems that employ flooded evaporators. For new equipment and retrofits.

Lower capacity. Can replace HCFC-22 in many cases without having to change compressor lubricant. May be used with alkylbenzene, mineral oil and POE lubricants. If inadequate oil return is observed for AB addition of POE may be needed. R422D can, in most cases, be used with existing HCFC-22 thermostatic expansion valves.Larger valves may be needed in cases where the R-22 valve is near its maximum capacity. Lower discharge temperature than HCFC-22, which may extend compressor longevity.

R-507

A non-ozone depleting azeotropic mixture of R-125 and R-143a. It has been primarily designed to replace R-502 in low- and medium-temperature commercial refrigeration applications such as supermarket display cases and ice machines. For new equipment and retrofits.

Slightly higher pressures and efficiency than R-404A. Best choice for systems with flooded evaporators. EPA SNAP approved and UL Classified.
